About Us

At South Mountain Physical Therapy, our physical therapists have over 20 years of experience in the industry. We participate in hours of continuing education programs in order to keep up with the latest protocols and provide the highest quality care. Our team truly loves what we do, and we are proud to offer a friendly and fun atmosphere that helps to make therapy as enjoyable as possible for our patients.

Kevin L. Shepherd, PT, DPT

Kevin Shepherd is a 1990 graduate of the University of Utah Physical Therapy program. He completed his doctoral training at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. His clinical specialty includes advanced training in orthopedic manual therapy, spinal stabilization training, and sports injury rehabilitation. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and UAPTA. Kevin has extensive background in sports medicine coverage including semi-professional and high school teams in and around Draper. He has lectured to various groups on injury prevention including pre-season conditioning and flexibility programs.

Kevin is well known in the medical and sports communities of Draper and Sandy, UT. He has a passion for the elderly community, and has a very kind and considerate appreciation for all of his patients. In his spare time, Kevin’s passions are cycling, hiking and spending time with his wife and French Bulldog, Harley.

Charles B. Numbers, MS, PT, DPT, CSCS

Charles Numbers graduated from Columbia University in 2000, with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. He earned his undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science & Health from the University of Utah in 1997. Since graduating from Columbia, Charles has worked for the Veterans Administration in New York City, working exclusively on the orthopedic and surgery floor, as well as inpatient rehabilitation. Currently, Charles specializes in sports medicine and general orthopedic populations. He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, training athletes in speed, agility, and quickness. Charles enjoys mountain biking, cycling, and spending time with his family.
